[FONT="]During the coronavirus disease pandemic rising in 2020, governments and nongovernmental organizations across the globe have taken great efforts to curb the infection rate by promoting or legally prescribing behavior that can reduce the spread of the virus. At the same time, this pandemic has given rise to speculations and conspiracy theories. Conspiracy worldviews have been connected to refusal to trust science, the biomedical model of disease, and legal means of political engagement in previous research. In three studies from the United States ([/FONT]N[FONT="] = 220; [/FONT]N[FONT="] = 288) and the UK ([/FONT]N[FONT="] = 298), we went beyond this focus on a general conspiracy worldview and tested the idea that different forms of conspiracy beliefs despite being positively correlated have distinct behavioral implications. Whereas conspiracy beliefs describing the pandemic as a hoax were more strongly associated with reduced containment-related behavior, conspiracy beliefs about sinister forces purposefully creating the virus related to an increase in self-centered prepping behavior.

Hyperbolic reaction. We needed to protect the vulnerable, and that is the responsibility of friends and family. Draconian lockdowns were unnecessary.
Death rates are worse in lockdown states, the costs of the lockdowns arguably exceeded any benefits.

A conversation about the virus should not be political, but it is for reasons obvious to everyone
Sweden's non lockdown method was a colossal failure relative to its Nordic neighbours that locked down.
No other lockdown vs no lockdown comparisons (e.g. between USA states) have been shown to be valid. At least not anywhere in this thread, or anywhere else i have seen.
The fact is lockdowns saved millions of lives. They also worked towards bringing a quicker end to the pandemic, which is good for the economy in the long run. So win win.

When the TRUE fatality rate of 0.25% became widely known, the media started screaming about "cases."
Cases. Cases. Casescasescases, on and on they droned....
One by one the lies became exposed. This was the CRIME OF THE CENTURY.
But the cover-up is unravelling.
